Mauricio Pochettino and the Chelsea ownership have reportedly decided to keep a pair of wingers on the roster. The clearly talented duo will stay at Stamford Bridge in spite of arguably overall indifferent showings and many respective inconsistencies this season. In addition to covering that story, The Pride of London take a look at a claim that the Blues have chosen their main transfer target for the role of solo striker. Let's get started!

Firstly, the wingmen. I actually rate both Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke. They certainly have similar qualities, as well as offering comparable benefits to the team. The two probably suffer from slightly differing problems, however. I would assert that Mudryk is less cultured in his approach and knowledge of the game. Whereas Madueke is slightly less mature - see the penalty debacle involving Cole Palmer - and more reluctant or willing to learn and accept a lesser role in the side.

But, as I say, the two are probably better in a squad than out of it! I can see the Ukraine international and the England Under-21 star each maturing and impacting wherever they find themselves. And, for the foreseeable future, that club could well be CFC.

You see, despite Chelsea Football Club possibly needing to sell some of their personnel because of Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSRs), they apparently plan to retain this duo. This update emerges regardless of the two individuals being separately connected with transfers to external outfits when the current season comes to an end.

What does this mean for former Three Lions wideman Raheem Sterling? Well, if true, this report will impact Sterling's capacity, if not standing, at the Bridge. Basically, he could be given a bit part supporting role on Fulham Road. Or, Pochettino and/or the owners may decide he is not of a Chels' standard anymore and opt to get rid of him.

Not Victor Osimhen, Ivan Toney or Viktor Gyokeres - the latest addition to Chelsea's striker wishlist

Just when supporters were imagining Osimhen, Toney or Gyokeres in the Blues starting lineup, another name is thrown into the hat. Obviously the highly rated Christopher Nkunku is set to return next month, possibly as a support centreforward to Nicolas Jackson. Yet Jackson has his off days, along with plenty of critics. The Senegalese's potential is apparent, yet his quality is questionable as a long-term CFC No.9. Enter Jonathan David of Ligue 1 club LOSC Lille:

"Despite David’s reputation having somewhat cooled down over the past 12 months, his performances have not faded.

The Canadian international has shown his goal scoring abilities consistently in the Ligue 1.

Chelsea have plans to sign a new striker in the summer with the Blues targeting Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen.

However, latest reports have suggested that the Lille striker is also being eyed by the Premier League club.

As per the source, Chelsea are now a legitimate contender for David, as they want to sign the Canadian in the summer.

A prospective deal may cost as much as £52 million, which is a rather high fee."
