The time at which Chelsea's owners will decide on Mauricio Pochettino's Blues future has supposedly been revealed. The latest humbling Chelsea suffered at the hands of Premier League leaders Arsenal was not much of a surprise, to be honest. The Blues are so fragile in defence and inconsistent in front of goal - without Cole Palmer, of course - that these type of outcomes and performances are expected by many. After the Gunners tallied up a five-goal haul against his men, Poch admitted that 'when they have a bad day - they are so bad'.

At this stage, I wonder if the former Tottenham Hotspur man is actually keen on remaining at the helm for the 2024/25 season. Speculation is rampant regarding his Chelsea status, not to mention many so-called candidates being suggested by, seemingly, all and sundry.

Chelsea seek to sign RB Leipzig Castello Lukeba?

According to a claim in the newspapers, the west London outfit have "made contact" with Castello Lukeba. Obviously allowing five to the Gunners has caused further concerns about the existing Blues back line. If there weren't already enough red flags, especially in the centreback role, as I see it anyway.

Back to Lukeba, the 21-year-old has certainly caught the eye at Leipzig. Could he aid a fractured CFC defence? Possibly. Incidentally, this is the most susceptible campaign Chelsea have ever endured in EPL football with respect to conceding.

It is said that veteran Thiago Silva and fellow centrehalf Trevoh Chalobah will exit the Bridge this summer, so places are available in the role. Now the Blues have made the Frenchman their 'No.1 defensive target'. However, the Red Bulls are reluctant to relinquish their asset 'at any cost'. I am not sure if that policy will stop Boehly if the English club are determined to secure a desired player.
