Conor Gallagher decides Chelsea future as Blues hold out for £30m

The Pride of London discuss Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher reportedly deciding his future. Meanwhile PoL comment on talk that the Blues are holding out for £30 million for versatile defender Ian Maatsen. Should either be sold? Is depth adequate at CFC in the two positions?

While Mauricio Pochettino awaits Todd Boehly's input on Gallagher's status, or the American financier's final decision, the player is in limbo. Football.london claim that the 23-year-old desires to stay at Chelsea. This is news that will please the majority of Blues supporters, I would imagine. The 18 month left on his contract appears to be an issue, that matter could surely be resolved and ratified in January, too.

Borussia Dortmund open talks for Chelsea Academy graduate Ian Maatsen over possible transfer to Germany - PoL offer a verdict

I still believe Maatsen should be retained by CFC: he shows much potential in numerous areas of the pitch. From what I can gather of Pochettino's wishes from the outside looking in, I don't think the Argentine rates the athlete as highly as myself. It is worth bearing in mind that the former Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain head coach sees the footballer in training every day, or at least when he is fit.

Nevertheless, it will have no doubt dawned on Pochettino that the attention Maatsen receives from renowned interested clubs means he has something quality to offer at this level. Obviously Burnley wanted to sign their ex-loanee, yet iconic teams such as Manchester City have been connected with monitoring the Dutchman. Now Dortmund are discussing a move, as per Evening Standard.

Apparently the 21-year-old has been made available by the west London outfit. He could leave Stamford Bridge this month for around £30m.
