Former Chelsea star Conor Gallagher has seemingly taken a swipe at the Blues. It is feasible that the England international actually took direct aim at the west Londoners' ownership and manager Enzo Maresca. To be fair to Gallagher, he was apparently essentially pushed out of the club without appearing to have much say in the matter himself. As it was his boyhood team, this would obviously leave a sour taste in the anyone's mouth. So what did the 24-year-old say about his one-time side? And was the statement ultimately justifiable?

In a separate matter for the Blues, one notable retired professional lauded CFC for possibly making the most impressive signing during the Premier League's recently closed transfer window. But which new addition is being discussed? Is this a realistic claim? And what did ex-Liverpool goalkeeper David James say exactly?

David James believes Chelsea winger is 'signing of the window' as Blues debutant makes bright start whilst providing assist for Christopher Nkunku winner

I have heard nothing but positivity and optimism regarding Jadon Sancho. And that is all good, if a little premature. Yes, during one cameo performance against a mid-table club - at best - the England international did have a very good influence. But let's not get carried away. He needs time to find his best form.

Though it is great for Maresca to have so many viable options amongst the squad.
Along with the Italian having a few proven alternatives on the bench. The seemingly secure attacking quartet of Pedro Neto, Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson is under threat from the aforementioned duo, as well as Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk.

Nevertheless James, once of Watford, Liverpool, Aston Villa, West Ham United, Manchester City, Portsmouth and Bristol City, is wholly impressed with Sancho after only 45 minutes in the Blues tank. The stopper believes the 24-year-old is probably the best acquisition of the summer Premier League transfer window:

"My signing of the window has to be Chelsea’s capture of Jadon Sancho! He had a good debut against Bournemouth; looked really lively. And there’s no doubt that there is a player in there."

Is Conor Gallagher having a dig at CFC bosses? It seems obvious to The Pride of London

Before we get to my views, have a read of Gallagher's comments subsequent to netting his initial Atletico Madrid goal:

"I’ve felt very wanted and appreciated, which is important for any footballer.

Chelsea are a huge football club, one of the biggest in the world, along with Atletico, but I have taken that exciting step of playing Champions League football and challenging for trophies. It just builds me with even more confidence and happiness to play my best football.

I’m really happy to be here and I’m settling in well. I’ve loved my first few weeks. I knew Atletico was always a massive club, a top club in La Liga and doing well in the Champions League, so I was excited to join."
Conor Gallagher

The midfield man says he feels "wanted and appreciated' at Alteti, which implies he felt unwanted and unappreciated at Stamford Bridge. While he also said something kind, he made sure to mention that he has Champions League football in Spain. Is he prodding CFC? You decide?
