When Maresca should be appointed as surprise clause and plan for star emerge
The approximate date for when current Leicester City Enzo Maresca will reportedly be appointed Chelsea manager is revealed. The Pride of London also offer a brief verdict on the Blues ownership's apparent decision to offer the Italian the top job at Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile a surprise clause in the contract and the 44-year-old's reported plan for a star of the west London outfit are worth discussing as well. It's all change at the Bridge again. Although, maybe co-controlling owners Behdad Eghbali and Todd Boehly will now find the stability they are said to crave at CFC.
When outlets like Sky Sports and Fabrizio Romano make respective and major claims of this magnitude, the stories have generally been realistic and accurate. So it looks as though Enzo Maresca will be the latest Chelsea boss under Behdad Eghbali and Todd Boehly. And good luck to the man from Italy! He'll certainly have his work cut out for him.
Hopefully financial matters subside and subsequently excellent transfers are made over the summer. Meanwhile the Blues fan base will desperately want Maresca to transition seamlessly and immediately into his demanding role. But without being overly negative, the soon-to-be ex-Foxes head coach might be more difficult to deal with or suppress than Mauricio Pochettino.
Pochettino seemed almost content or resigned to the fact that he had minimal influence over certain aspects of the club. Specifically even football issues were ostensibly meddled with at times. Due to having follow the former Manchester City coach for the season on fellow FanSided site Foxes of Leicester, I cannot envisage him being quite as passive as 'Poch' appeared on occasion. When Enzo Maresca is forecasted to be installed as Chelsea boss, his contract clause and vision for Enzo Fernandez
As previously mentioned, discussions are purportedly moving along swiftly as Chelsea Football Club's representatives and Maresca's people devise a suitable agreement. A five-year deal is on the table according to Express; there was an eyebrow or two raised when the same report suggested that an option for a one-year extension is included too. He is expected to be announced at the Bridge within 'the next few days'.
While the talks 'progress well', there is another interesting aspect of Maresca's anticipated arrival at CFC. Apparently he has put forward some ideas to the Chels' board regarding what to do with Fernandez. The former proposed a formation switch to better utilise the Argentine.
