Chelsea have already parted ways with plenty of players in this summer transfer window. And the Blues management always seems to be open to the possibilities of further, if the right offers arrive on their table. So, the futures of a few others at Stamford Bridge remain up in the air with a month still left to do business.
Chelsea have added to their forward ranks this summer, bringing in Joao Pedro and Liam Delap. The former was excellent at the Club World Cup, scoring three goals in two starts and also showing his overall quality on and off the ball. The latter brings something different to Enzo Maresca's side as well, although we are yet to see his best in front of goal.
That leaves Nicolas Jackson, the first-choice number 9 for the past two seasons, in a tough spot though. There is a genuine possibility that he could end up leaving this month.
We have seen Jackson already be linked with FC Barcelona this summer. Now, it looks like Real Madrid have him on their radar as well, if reports coming out of Spain are accurate.
Real Madrid reportedly want to sign €50m Chelsea player
As reported by E-noticies, Jackson liked by Real Madrid. They want to sign him this summer to replace Endrick and Gonzalo, who are not yet ready to be undisputed starters.
It remains to be seen if Chelsea will sanction an exit. It would all depend on the transfer fee. There have been claims in England that the Blues would want €100 million for the Senegalese international, which is pretty close to impossible. But then, outlets in Spain appear to believe that he could available for around €50 million.
Jackson does have a history in Spain, having already played for Villarreal. So, he is proven in La Liga and has shown a lot of positives during his two years with Chelsea as well, although his finishing has let him down time after time. If he can improve on that, he could instantly become one of the best strikers on the planet.
