Despite having completed a lot of their business already, Chelsea remains the subject of some huge transfer news. The Blues have completed the signings of Dario Essugo, Mamadou Sarr, Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, and Joao Pedro, but they are also looking to get a number of players off their books in this window.
One of those is Chelsea defender Axel Disasi, who joined from AS Monaco in August 2023 for around £38 million. But he now seems to be surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
The French international was a mainstay in his first season, featuring 44 times in all competitions under Mauricio Pochettino and scoring 3 goals. However, Disasi became an irregular figure in Chelsea's defence once Enzo Maresca was brought in as head coach.
He started all six league phase matches in the UEFA Conference League but only made four Premier League starts. After that, Disasi was sent on loan to Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024-25 season, where he made ten appearances.
Several clubs begin talks to sign €30m Chelsea player
According to RMC Sport, Disasi is unlikely to stay with Chelsea this summer. Several clubs interested in the international's profile have begun talks regarding him. Chelsea hopes to earn around €30 million from a transfer.
However, it remains to be seen what Disasi's future holds and whether the Blues will sign a new centre-back option if he leaves Stamford Bridge. It is more than likely that he will play his football away from Chelsea next season, whether it is on a loan or permanent basis.
On the other hand, we have seen Chelsea being linked with a number of centre-backs. That includes names like Marc Guehi, Mario Gila, Jorrel Hato and quite a few others. Let's see who they end up going for, if they even do go for one.
