Chelsea’s impressive 2-0 victory over Everton may be more than 48 hours old, but there is still plenty to take away from the Blues’ performance at Goodison Park.

With the latest round of Premier League fixtures concluded, it is the perfect time to reflect on the players who made the difference for Chelsea and helped secure three valuable points.

From decisive contributions in attack to the work that laid the foundations for a clean sheet, several players stepped up when it mattered. Here are the three Chelsea performers who stood out most in an encouraging win for the Blues.

Pedro Neto

Pedro Neto was Chelsea’s standout hero on the day, scoring two superbly taken goals to undo Everton and secure all three points on Merseyside.

His clinical finishing proved decisive, but his contribution extended beyond the scoresheet. Neto’s willingness to take on defenders, exploit space and drive Chelsea forward made him a constant threat in attack.

He was particularly influential in the second half, helping the Blues maintain their attacking edge and see out an important victory. It was a match-winning display that underlined Neto’s growing importance to Chelsea.

Jorrel Hato

Jorrel Hato came into the game under pressure, but a late injury to Pep Chavarría handed him an opportunity, and the Dutchman took it with both hands.

The full-back provided a real threat down Chelsea’s left flank, setting up the opening goal with an excellent pull-back. Worked well with Rogers down that left flank.

He was equally assured defensively, showing good positioning, competing strongly in duels and dealing effectively with Everton’s attacking threats. It was an encouraging all-round display from Hato, who made the most of an unexpected opportunity to strengthen his case for more regular minutes in the Chelsea side.

Mike Penders

Mike Penders may have dreamed of making his Chelsea debut against a rival, but he could hardly have expected the opportunity to arrive so early in the season. Emi Martínez’s injury midway through the second half forced the Belgian into action, and he responded with a composed 30-minute spell as Chelsea secured their first clean sheet of the season.

Although Penders was not overly troubled during his time on the pitch, he made a positive impression when called upon. One notable moment saw him deal confidently with an Everton cross, punching the ball clear to ease any danger. It was a reassuring introduction for the young goalkeeper, who showed composure when Chelsea needed him.

Big run of games incoming with Penders having to come of age now.
