It is almost impossible to make any judgments on this Chelsea team. One day they are struggling to compete against League One opposition. Another day, they play the Premier League champions off the park. You never know what you will get. Fortunately, we got the Blues at their best at Stamford Bridge at the weekend.

Chelsea have had their fair share of injury troubles in recent times. In fact, by the end of the game, they did not have a single traditional centre-back on the pitch.

So, you would expect Liverpool to be the ones to push on and win this game. Instead, it was Estevao, Chelsea's Brazilian wonderkid, who scored his first goal for the Blues and sealed a massive win for them.

That is a brilliant result for Chelsea to say the very least. And one player deserves all the credit in the world for his performamce, although it is uncertain when we will see him back on the pitch.

We are talking about none other than Benoit Badiashile. The Frenchman was superb for about an hour against Liverpool but then had to be taken off with an injury. He was so impressive that London World handed him a 10/10 rating.

When Badiashile left the pitch, it was very clear that Chelsea were not as organised at the back and ended up conceding soon afterwards. That leaves the Blues in a terrible spot, although one would hope that the international break will offer the club's centre-backs the time that they need to recover from whatever issues they are carrying.

Trevoh Chalobah is the only fit Chelsea centre-back at the time of writing. That is remarkable when you think about it. Levi Colwill. Tosin Adarabioyo, Wesley Fofana, Josh Acheampong and Badiashile are all out injured. Jorrel Hato is viewed as a left-back who can play centrally, like he did against Liverpool late on.

It remains to be seen if this situation leads to Axel Disasi being brought back into the fold. For the time being, let's just hope that the issues picked up by Badiashile and Acheampong are not serious and they will be back soon.
