After signing a significant number of new players this summer, Chelsea are now looking to part with players who aren't in their long-term plans. Noni Madueke, Djordje Petrovic, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Joao Felix have already left. Several others are expected to follow, including Armando Broja and Lesley Ugochukwu, who are set to join Burnley, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is also on the verge of joining Everton.
However, there are still players, like Ben Chilwell and Axel Disasi, who need to seek opportunities elsewhere. Raheem Sterling also falls under this category, but he appears to have plenty of suitors, with two Premier League clubs already interested. And recent reports suggest that a third club has now emerged as a potential destination.
Sterling moved to Chelsea from Manchester City in 2022 for a £47.5m fee, but has struggled to replicate his brilliant form at Stamford Bridge. In 81 games, he has only managed 19 goals for the Blues. He was sent to Arsenal at loan last season, but he failed to make an impact there as well, scoring just 1 goal in 28 appearances for Mikel Arteta's side.
As a result, the 30-year-old doesn't seem to have a future at Stamford Bridge. It is believed that Chelsea's strong preference is to part ways with Sterling permanently, and they want a transfer fee of around £20 million to sanction his exit.
West Ham United interested in signing Chelsea player
According to talkSPORT, West Ham United are among the clubs keeping an eye on Sterling. Fulham and Crystal Palace are also interested. Juventus want him as well but the Englishman's preference would be to stay in London.
West Ham United have already signed a few players this summer, including Jean-Clair Todibo, Kyle Walker-Peters, and Callum Wilson. However, their squad has been weakened by Mohammed Kudus' departure to Tottenham Hotspur. They need someone with an X-factor.
As for Sterling, a change of scenery is of the utmost need to revive his career, as he has that quality and experience to deliver, and these clubs are aware of it. It might be a point in his career where he needs to be a big fish in a small pond rather than trying to play for one of Europe's elite.
Chelsea would benefit financially from the deal, allowing them to pursue their own goals. Now it remains to be seen who among these clubs will be able to sign the 82-cap English international this summer, if any.
