Morgan Rogers seems increasingly likely to depart Aston Villa this summer, and Chelsea are one of several teams interested.
Rogers scored and assisted in Villa's 3-0 win over Freiburg to win the Europa League, but despite helping Unai Emery's men return to the Champions League, the 23-year-old could be sacrificed.
Villa can only spend 70 per cent of football revenue on players, and as a result, the club will have to make a big sale. Rogers holds the most value of anyone in Emery's squad, given his age and limitless potential, with Villa placing an £100 million asking price on his head.
Arsenal are serious contenders to sign the Villans No. 27, although Chelsea, Manchester United and PSG shouldn't be discounted in the race, with a fresh update emerging.
Morgan Rogers could leave Aston Villa after World Cup
According to transfer expert Ben Jacobs, while Rogers leaving Villa Park is "expected", the England international isn't "agitated" to leave and is "calm" if his future isn't resolved until after the World Cup.

Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG remain the other clubs keen.

Rogers was selected for Thomas Tuchel's 26-man squad at the tournament after an exceptional campaign saw him produce 26 goal involvements in all competitions, operating as either a left-sided attacking midfielder or number 10 behind Ollie Watkins.
The former Manchester City academy gem was one of multiple preferred ahead of Chelsea's Cole Palmer, who missed out after a subpar campaign, scoring just four non-penalty goals in the Premier League.
An impressive World Cup for Rogers could bring more attention, but Xabi Alonso should arguably do everything his power to bring the powerful attacker to Stamford Bridge. Not only does he slot perfectly into the Spaniard's system as a left-sided number 10, capturing him ahead of Arsenal - for instance - would be a huge statement of intent.
What Unai Emery has said about Rogers
Villa signed Rogers from Middlesbrough for just £16 million in January 2024, and since then, he's watched his value and ability skyrocket in the Premier League.
A match-winner in big games against Manchester United, Liverpool and the Europa League final this season, he always steps up to the occasion and can handle high pressure environments.
Chelsea don't have enough players who can win a match on their own, and Alonso would surely want to add someone to his squad who thrives in these moments, while providing leadership to those around him.
Speaking about Rogers in December via BBC Sport, Emery praised his midfielder's "commitment" and "leadership in the dressing room" after entering the title picture at one point.
"He's a fantastic guy," Emery said. "He loves football - his commitment with the club is fantastic, his attitude every day. He's a leader in the dressing room because he's always positive, he has energy, and then he has skills, of course.
"His versatility is very important and to be positive playing 10 numbers inside, 10 numbers outside, even like a winger, is very, very important for us. Through the mentality he's showing, he can get his best and adding numbers now - goals, assists.""
Still only 23, with bags of potential to improve, it's scary to think how good Rogers could become, and Chelsea fans will be praying he joins the club.
