Chelsea already have enough fitness problems to deal with right now. Cole Palmer and Liam Delap have both been sidelined with early-season injuries while Levi Colwill might be out for the entire campaign with the ACL injury he suffered in pre-season training. Benoit Badiashile and Romeo Lavia are yet to play a single minute. And it looks like Dario Essugo might have picked up a muscle issue while away on international duty as well.

Naturally, Chelsea fans were left worried when Moises Caicedo was left out of Ecuador's recent matchup due to what was reported in the South American media as 'physical discomfort'. The positive was that he was expected to return for their following game against Argentina.

So, the issue was not thought to be anything serious. Now, there is mixed news about Caicedo's situation though. But Chelsea fans will be a bit worried about the images that have emerged.

The good news is that Caicedo is back in training. The bad news is that the pictures on social media show him with quite a bit of bandaging and knee support. One can only hope that it is precautionary and he is not looking to return to action too early for what is a vital World Cup qualifier game for Ecuador against Argentina.

Caicedo is one of the most durable players in world football today. Often times, it has looked like he has picked up an injury only for him to continue playing on or return to the lineup in the very next game.

Combine that with his ability both on and off the ball, and he might very well be Chelsea's most important player. They need him to be fit and available throughout the season.

So, one would hope that the issue is nothing to be worried about and just precautionary in nature. But if there is any risk of furthering any issue, perhaps there needs to be a second thought about him featuring against Argentina.
