Mohamed Salah Situation Under FIFA Investigation
Chelsea FC’s Mohamed Salah is subject to a FIFA investigation regarding his situation with Fiorentina
A large part of Chelsea’s summer transfer window was dominated by an increasingly complicated saga involving the club, Fiorentina and Mohamed Salah. While the issue was thought to have been settled when the Egyptian was loaned to AS Roma, FIFA have now opened up an investigation into the whole sorry affair.

After scoring multiple goals against the Blues, Jose Mourinho signed Salah from Basel in January 2014 for around £11million. He would go on to make 11 competitive appearances in the second half of that campaign while netting a couple of goals.
However, he failed to make a significant impression and he would appear just three times in the Premier League at the start of the 2014/15 season before being loaned to Fiorentina in January.
During his spell in Italy, Salah displayed the talent that convinced Mourinho to buy him. He played 26 times and bagged nine goals while helping Fiorentina into fourth place.
The Italians were impressed by Salah to the extent that they wanted to activate the option-to-buy clause that was agreed in the loan deal.
Then the problems began.
Salah refused the permanent move. Fiorentina then threatened legal action claiming that they were entitled to the player, but eventually gave up their pursuit with Chelsea reportedly offering a compensation deal. Salah subsequently agreed a loan switch to Serie A rivals Roma.
Even though it was thought that the matter was dead and buried, The Daily Star claims that the always efficient FIFA have decided to investigate it. It is worth noting that the organisation did authorise the Roma deal as well.
Cheers Sepp!
"They’re to launch an investigation into Fiorentina’s claim they were entitled to sign the player as part of a clause in his loan switch to the club last season."

Frankly, I couldn’t care less about the whole thing, and I’m not sure the Stamford Bridge brass do either. Chelsea are in a very tough spot at the moment and have bigger things to worry about than the beautifully ironic notion of a grossly corrupt organisation conducting an investigation into contractual misconduct.
Give me a (international) break.
Fiorentina’s football director even admits that they had no right to purchase the player anyway.
"“We could have reclaimed Salah only in January, not in the summer’s transfer window.”"
Now news regarding a player who has already caused the Blues too much trouble over the summer will continue to be on the agenda. The only aspect of it that I am looking forward to is how Mourinho answers the questions that will inevitably come up in press conferences.
In the meantime, because Salah is one letter removed from the word ‘salad’, here is a picture of a salad. Sound off with your favourite salads in the comments below!
