Mason Mount (Right winger): 7.5/10

Mason Mount looked lively on Wednesday, making runs and crossing the ball in for the attackers to get on the end of. Even though the English midfielder could not chip in with any goals or assists, he was fully involved in the game. He took three shots, made two key passes and crossed the ball a match-high nine times.

Romelu Lukaku (Striker): 6/10

Starting Lukaku in this game seemed a bit strange as Tuchel did say in his press conference that the Belgian striker was suffering from muscle fatigue. Just around the 20-minute mark, Lukaku was brought down by a bad tackle, which forced him off with what looked like an ankle injury. Bad decision from Tuchel to play him in this contest.

Timo Werner (Left winger): 5.5/10

Just like Lukaku, Werner was forced off the pitch with an injury just before halftime. This can spell disaster for Chelsea with both of its strikers out injured for the foreseeable future. When it comes to the German strikers’ play, he did what he usually does well. He came deep and out wide to collect the ball and put crosses into the box. Nevertheless, he could have given the Blues the lead in the opening minutes if he didn’t fluff his lines and miss from a couple yards out.

Kai Havertz (Striker): 8/10

The German international should have started the game in the first place, but got his chance early after the injury to Lukaku. In the opening few minutes of the second half, Havertz finished off an amazing pass from Callum Hudson-Odoi by chipping the ball above the goalkeeper and extending the lead to three. With both Werner and Lukaku out, he will now get his chance to prove himself.

Callum Hudson-Odoi (Left winger): 7/10

Hudson-Odoi replaced Werner just before the end of the first half as he sustained a hamstring injury. The youngster had an immediate impact, taking the defenders on and was subsequently awarded an assist for Havertz’s goal after he made a darting 50-meter run.

Chelsea needs to shut down Christian Pulisic for an extended period. dark. Next
