Reece James (Right Wingback): 8/10

For the second successive Premier League game, Reece James was the best Chelsea player on the pitch today. The England international was the biggest attacking threat as he pushed incredibly into the opponent’s half. James assisted the opener with a pinpoint cross for Kai Havertz to head home in the first half. In the second half, James could have had another assist but Thiago Silva headed off the post.

N’Golo Kante (Central Midfielder): 7/10

N’Golo Kante had a good game today doing the things that the French midfielder is well known for, breaking down opponents’ play, intercepting passes, tackling, and defending the ball well. Kante looked lively and energetic throughout but as the game went on, the physical aspect of the game increased and Kante was replaced by Mason Mount in the 85th minute as Chelsea were chasing the game.

Jorginho (Central Midfielder): 7/10

Jorginho ran the game throughout the 90 minutes today. IN the first half, the Italian midfielder picked Burnley apart with his precise passing. Even in the second half, Jorginho controlled the game and apart from taking two shots on goal made several vital interceptions when Burnley were threatening.

Ben Chilwell (Left Wingback): 6.5/10

Ben Chilwell had a very quiet day today, with no goal contributions as well as a clean sheet. The England international didn’t see much of the ball today as the majority of the play went down the right side but Chilwell did have three shots on goal which were blocked with the body on the line type tackles. Not the best of games from Chilwell seeing his rich vein of form recently.
