Mason Mount (Right winger): 9/10

The best Chelsea player on the pitch was Mason Mount with a goal and assist to show for his efforts. The England international started his first game after fully recovering from his dental surgery and looked lively from the get-go. Having come under some scrutiny for not scoring many goals, hopefully Wednesday’s performance can help him build his confidence in front of goal. Mount even assisted the winning goal, which was scored by Ziyech to cap off an excellent outing.

Kai Havertz (Center forward): 8/10

Kai Havertz played a very good game at Vicarage Road. With no support from a struggling midfield pairing of Saul and Loftus-Cheek, the German international worked smarter and harder. Playing as a lone striker on top, his clever game intelligence and movement made his performance more impressive. Havertz assisted the opening goal for Mount.

Christian Pulisic (Left winger): 6/10

Throughout the game, it was difficult to point out what Christian Pulisic did for the team. The American international was very wasteful in the advanced spaces and kept losing the ball or dribbling into the Watford defenders way too often. Toward the end of the match, Pulisic was deployed as a right wingback, something we will see more often given the injuries in the side.

Romelu Lukaku (Striker): 6/10

Lukaku came on in place of Azpilicueta in the 70′ and unsettled the Watford defense with his presence. Seeing as he is still getting up to speed, this was a good substitution for the manager.

Hakim Ziyech (Right winger): 8/10

Ziyech came on for the injured Chalobah and had the worst possible start as he was booked for a foul. The Moroccan international also misplaced passes and made some bizarre mistakes, but as the game went on, he soon kicked into gear. Ziyech went on to score the winning goal for Chelsea.
