Thiago Silva (No. 6) Centerback, Brazil

Silva was the villain and also the hero in the same story. On one hand, how many centerbacks do you see making up for errors with goal-line clearances? Not many. On the other hand, you also don’t see many CB’s make that many mistakes inside of the first five minutes of a game. He’s been looking more and more his age lately.

Marc Cucurella (No. 32) Left centerback, Spain

Cucurella came under a lot of heat in the wake of the Brighton game. Many fans mentioned the fact that the Spaniard kept getting boos from the home crowd. Whether or not this was what destabilized him is difficult to decide, however, his performance had a lot to do with the players who were (not) playing wingback on the day as much as him.

Raheem Sterling (No. 17) Left wingback, England

No one knows why Chilwell didn’t start at left wingback, perhaps he was being rested. There’s a feeling that Potter will want to keep the England man for the Arsenal game this weekend though, so expect Sterling to start again at left wide midfield. It’s Dinamo Zagreb, so the Blues should be able to get away with it this time.
