Chelsea have already been very active in the transfer window, with significant movement both in and out of the club. In terms of arrivals, they have brought in Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, and Jamie Gittens. On the other hand, players like Djordje Petrovic and Noni Madueke have decided to leave, with Christopher Nkunku, Joao Felix and possibly Nicolas Jackson also expected to depart.
However, Chelsea’s transfer activity is not expected to slow down anytime soon, as they are still in need of a reliable centre-back. That is especially important with Renato Veiga, Axel Disasi and Wesley Fofana being linked with moves away.
Several names have been linked with the role, but no move has materialised so far. That said, it appears the club have identified a new candidate, this time, a defender from Bayern Munich.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Chelsea are interested in Kim Min-jae. Veiga could also be part of the deal.
Chelsea weighing up the option to bring Kim Min-jae by swapping Renato Veiga
Veiga spent the second half of last season on loan at Juventus and made 15 appearances there. He has now returned to the club upon completing his spell in Italy, but it seems that the player might not be in Enzo Maresca’s plans moving forward, despite his solid performances whenever given a chance.
Meanwhile, Kim has failed to replicate his Napoli form at Bayern Munich and, as a result, could be on the move this summer. Apart from Chelsea, clubs like Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in the player.
Chelsea suffered from injury issues at the back last season and will want to avoid a similar situation next season, especially with the team back in the Champions League. The Blues could also be set to lose a few personnel at the back.
So, Kim could prove to be a valuable addition to the squad, and Veiga could play a major role in the transfer. However, it’s just a speculation at this stage, and we will have to watch out for any new developments in this regard.
