Andrey Santos is on the verge of becoming the third player to leave Chelsea this summer.
The Blues have already let Marc Cucurella join Real Madrid and Tyrique George join Everton with Santos close to being unveilled as a new Manchester United player.
The Red Devils reached an agreement worth £50 million with Chelsea. The midfielder has recently undergone his medical at Carrington.
And fans appear split over the Blues' decision to cash in on the highly rated 22-year-old.
Chelsea fans react to Andrey Santos joining Man United
Taking to Reddit, hundreds of Chelsea supporters have expressed their thoughts on Santos' decision to join a direct rival.
"We’ll regret this massively in time," user Noda237 said.
User jleezy112 added: "Damn. Feel like he never got the chance he deserved. Casualty of mindless spending."
User yoericfc said: "One of the few players Clearlake brought in that (in my opinion) can be a world class player.. This is absolutely ridiculous."
Another user named revy-uzg added: "I’m kinda sad at this, I won’t lie."
Not everyone was against the transfer though. One fan compared Santos to former winger Noni Madueke and his move to Arsenal.
"He’s literally a bench warmer why is everyone freaking out he’s basically the midfield version of Madueke £50m is a great deal," Mexicangrill said.
The Blues have also successfully negotiated a 10 per cent sell-on clause into the Brazilian's deal meaning they could be in line for a decent windfall further down the line.
Good deal or bad deal?
Even though some feel Santos' £50 million move to Manchester United is a bad deal for Chelsea, there is no denying how desperate the club are to raise funds.
Missing out on UEFA Champions League football next season has cost them millions and Xabi Alonso cannot put his stamp on the team without having money available to spend, so outgoings were inevitable.
Santos' impending switch to Old Trafford is far from ideal, but it does suggest Enzo Fernandez has changed his stance on leaving Stamford Bridge.
The Argentine is still in the 2026 World Cup and bidding to lift the prestigious trophy for the second time in as many tournaments.
Should Chelsea start the 2026-27 campaign with Fernandez still a Blue, it would be a huge win for the club, who could then say they're still able to retain the world's best players despite their lack of European action.
