In a surprise to no one, Chelsea have been one of the busiest Premier League clubs in this summer transfer window. Following last season's tenth place finish, and the subsequent appointment of Xabi Alonso, the new head coach has looked to completely reshape his squad. It can be hard to keep up with all the comings and goings at Stamford Bridge, but here is our best attempt to document it.
Every Chelsea signing in the 2026 summer transfer window
Player | Position | Former club | Fee |
|---|---|---|---|
Marco Palestra | Right-wing-back | Atalanta | £43 million |
Emmanuel Emegha | Centre-forward | Strasbourg | £22 million |
Geovany Quenda | Right winger | Sporting CP | £40 million |
Morgan Rogers | Attacking midfielder | Aston Villa | £117 million |
Maxence Lacroix | Centre-back | Crystal Palace | £52 million |
Danny Welbeck | Centre-forward | Brighton | £5 million |
Valentín Barco | Left-back | Strasbourg | £34 million |
Jordan Henders | Defensive midfielder | Brentford | Free transfer |
Pep Chavarría | Left-wing-back | Rayo Vallecano | £18 million |
Dastan Satpayev | Striker | Kairat Almaty | £3.4 million |
The expectation is that Alonso will deploy the back three shape that delivered plenty of success when he was Bayer Leverkusen manager. Thus, it is no surprise that wing-back has been an area of focus. Marco Palestra and Pep Chavarría could be the new first-choice options out-wide, while Maxence Lacroix has arrived from Crystal Palace to bolster their centre-back options.
Elsewhere, the Blues have broken the British transfer record to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa. The 24 year old seemed set to join Arsenal, but Chelsea hijacked that deal, essentially by offering a lot more money, so he'll be deployed a duel number ten alongside his great friend Cole Palmer.

Valentín Barco and Emmanuel Emegha have arrived from BlueCo's other operation Strasbourg, must've been some tough negotiations, but we're yet to even mention the most eye-catching move of the window. That is, of course, the arrivals of Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson, both born in 1990, have arrived to add some expirence to this very young squad.
Every Chelsea departure in the 2026 summer transfer window
Player | Position | New club | Fee |
|---|---|---|---|
Marc Cucurella | Left-back | Real Madrid | £47.5 million |
Tyrique George | Left winger | Everton | £18 million |
Andrey Santos | Defensive midfielder | Manchester United | £48 million |
Trevoh Chalobah | Centre-back | Como | £25.7 million |
Alejandro Garnacho | Left winger | Aston Villa | Loan |
Filip Jörgensen | Goalkeeper | Strasbourg | Loan |
Dastan Satpayev | Striker | Burnley | Loan |
Marc Cucurella is, by some distance, the most noteworthy and impactful departure. The Spaniard agreed to join Real Madrid even before the World Cup, and was one of the outstanding players at the tournament as la Roja won the trophy in New Jersey. Cucurella had been, for many years, arguably the Blues' most consistent performer, so will leave behind an enormous void on the left side.

Elsewhere, Andrey Santos has departed for Manchester United, also for a big fee. This has led to plenty of debate among Chelsea fans as to whether the Brazilian will be a massive loss, or if now was the right time to cash in.
Tyrique George's move to Everton has been made permanent, Trevoh Chalobah has been sold to Como while they've also managed to offload Alejandro Garnacho. Whether or not Aston Villa activate his conditional £42.6 million obligation to buy remains to be seen.
Chelsea's current net spend
- Fees paid: £332.4 million
- Fees earned: £139.2 million.
- Net spend: £193.2 million.
Which players could Chelsea still sign?
Given their ginormous squad, the remainder of the transfer window is likely to be more about outgoings than incomings for Chelsea. Nevertheless, it would be a shock to no one if the Blues still made another move or two before the 1 September deadline.
They have been linked with wantaway Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martínez, as well as midfielders Lamine Camara of Monaco as well as Bournemouth's Alex Scott. A lot will depend on outgoings.
Which Chelsea players are most likely to leave?
How long have you got? We'll try and run through this as quickly as possible. Manchester City have Enzo Fernández has their number one target to replace Rodri, after his move to Barcelona. Chelsea value the Argentine midfielder, who has burst a lot of bridges in West London, at £120 million.
Pedro Neto could be another high-profile departure. Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal are prepared to pay around £60 million to sign the Portuguese winger, who the Blues believe to be worth £100 million.
Lastly, there are plenty of Chelsea players who are surplus to requirements. These include Benoît Badiashile, Nicolas Jackson, Marc Guiu, USMNT goalkeeper Gaga Słonina and many more. It'll also be interesting to see what happens with Mykhailo Mudryk. He has not played for almost two years, but the Ukrainian's drugs ban is now over, with reports suggesting the Blues would like to loan him out.
