Chelsea are already among the busiest clubs this summer and look to only just be getting started.
The Blues have already sold Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid in a deal worth £52 million with Enzo Fernandez a contender to follow him to the Spanish capital.
In terms of incomings, though, this week saw Chelsea reach an agreement with Atalanta for highly rated right wing-back Marco Palestra.
The young defender is preparing to have his medical with reports suggesting he will pen a six year deal and become Xabi Alonso's first signing since being appointed manager.
Palestra isn't the only defender in the Blues' sights, though.
Fabrizio Romano confirms Chelsea are in talks for Xabi Alonso's second signing
According to Fabrizio Romano, Alonso has approved another potential signing with the club now actively pursuing Crystal Palace's Maxence Lacroix.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, the Italian journalist said: "Chelsea are working on Maxence Lacroix.
"Contact has started on the player side, contact started to understand the conditions of the deal. [...] They see him as a very good profile in terms of age, in terms of skills, in terms of potential, in terms of Premier League experience, in terms of international experience."
Lacroix has three years left on his deal at Selhurst Park but has refused to enter into extension talks because he wants to see what opportunities present themselves this summer.
And now with Chelsea entering the market for him, the Frenchman, who is currently away with France at the World Cup after being included in Didier Deschamps' 26-man squad, has real hope he can make the switch to Stamford Bridge.
Lacroix solid upgrade as Como eye Trevoh Chalobah
Even if Lacroix ends up joining, the Blues could look to add a second centre back, especially if one leaves.
And as things stand, the player likliest to move on is Trevoh Chalobah.
Like Lacroix, Chalobah is also at the World Cup after receiving a late call up, but all the talk back home remains focused on his club future.
The 26-year-old is wanted by Cesc Fabregas' Como in a deal that could free up funds for the Blues to up the ante in their mission to land Lacroix.
Since being promoted from Chelsea's youth squad to the first team in 2023, Chalobah, who has up to three years left on his contract, has directly contributed to 11 goals in 151 matches in all competitions.
