Chelsea have been successful in fulfilling most of their plans in the transfer window so far. They have brought in players like Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, and have also secured an agreement to sign Jorrel Hato, which is just awaiting official confirmation. A move for Xavi Simons is believed to be close as well. Meanwhile, a number of players have left, including Kepa Arrizabalaga, Noni Madueke, Joao Felix, Djordje Petrovic, and others.
However, that’s not the end of it, as Chelsea are looking to part ways with more players who are not part of the club’s long-term plans. Christopher Nkunku certainly falls under that category.
The Blues have been pushing for his departure since the beginning of the transfer window. A number of clubs have already been linked with the French player previously. But nothing substantial has materialised so far.
Now, Matteo Moretto has dropped an update on the Frenchman's situation and added a new name in the race to sign him. Nkunku is also on the list of Inter Milan. He is one of the top alternatives to Ademola Lookman, who remains the priority for the Champions League runners-up.
Inter Milan interested in Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku
Nkunku joined Chelsea in 2023 after an impressive stint with RB Leipzig. However, he has failed to cement a regular spot in the team owing to a dip in form and injury troubles. Last season, the French international was largely used as a cover option and in cup competitions.
Clubs like Manchester United, Napoli, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Bayern Munich, among others, have already registered their interest in the player. Meanwhile, Chelsea might be willing to part ways for a fee around £35 million.
So all indication points to the fact that the possibility of Nkunku staying for another season is close to nil, especially with the arrivals of Pedro and Delap, who have quickly made a valuable impact at the Club World Cup. It’s now a question of which club Nkunku ends up at, and we hope to find the answer soon.
