Enzo Maresca has been out of work since he left Chelsea at the start of the year.
The Italian clashed with the club's owners and a mutual agreement to terminate his contract was reached. Unsurprisingly, things have gone downhill ever since.
Maresca's replacement, Liam Rosenior, was sacked this week after just 104 days in charge, leaving the Blues searching for another permanent manager.
While fans hope Maresca will make a surprise return to Stamford Bridge, it seems unlikely as he remains the favourite to succeed Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
And should the 46-year-old move to the Etihad, according to recent reports, he could take one of his former Chelsea players with him.
Manchester City monitoring Enzo Fernandez ahead of possible Enzo Maresca appointment
Enzo Fernandez has become unsettled at Stamford Bridge this season and, as a result, has admitted he's open to leaving the club in the summer.
The Argentine was recently dropped for two matches following comments he made, which fuelled the speculation, while away on international duty.
Clearly unhappy, Fernandez's situation is attracting interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs, and according to talkSPORT, the latest to add him to their shortlist is Manchester City.

Moving north would be a difficult transfer for Fernandez to complete, though.
Not only will Chelsea refuse to sell him on the cheap, but Nottingham Forest and England's Elliot Anderson is the Blue Moon's top midfield target.
All eyes on Maresca's next job as BlueCo realise their biggest mistake
Maresca has kept a low profile since he left Stamford Bridge. He has yet to decide his next job but it seems unlikely he'll be without work for too much longer.
As for City, despite the team gunning for their ninth Premier League title, this season could be Guardiola's last. The Spaniard has yet to sign a new contract, and until he does, Maresca will stay the favourite to take over.
BlueCo's decision to let the Italian leave is one they'll regret for a long time. Not only was Maresca's successor was a total disaster, but the side have taken a huge step backwards since they lifted the FIFA Club World Cup a year ago.
Should Maresca take the Etihad hot seat, and Fernandez with him, success for the pair will surely follow, and just the thought is enough to leave us feeling sick to our stomach.
Well done, BlueCo.
