Chelsea have brought in two new strikers in the form of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap to strengthen their frontline. While the Englishman joined before the Club World Cup from Ipswich Town, the Brazilian arrived more recently and impressed on his debut. On top of that, the club could be looking to make another signing in that position.

As a result, the futures of the current forwards of the club are now in doubt, especially that of Christopher Nkunku, as he is expected to be on his way out this summer. The French international, who is capable of playing in multiple positions, has never truly found his footing in a Chelsea shirt. His debut season was marred by injuries, followed by another subpar campaign.

Several clubs have already registered their interest in the player, with Manchester United emerging as the most likely destination for Nkunku. Meanwhile, Chelsea have reportedly set a price tag on the transfer already.

According to the Mirror, Manchester United have been quoted £35 million to sign Nkunku. That will represent a big loss on a player Chelsea signed for £52 million two years ago.

Nkunku seems to have lost the spark he once had and is no longer essential to Chelsea’s plans. As a result, the club need to part ways with him, even if it means accepting a significant loss compared to the original fee they paid to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

According to some reports, Chelsea and Manchester United were previously exploring a swap deal that would have involved Nkunku and Alejandro Garnacho switching sides. However, after the signing of Jamie Gittens, that now seems unlikely, though not entirely ruled out.

Nkunku needs a fresh start to regain his old form, and he may get one soon as his days at Chelsea seem to be numbered. It’s only a matter of time before he finds a new home. Will Old Trafford be his next destination, or will he end up somewhere? Bayern Munich are another side believed to be interested in the Frenchman, which might grow further following the serious injury Jamal Musiala suffered recently.
