3 FPL players you can't ignore from Chelsea
There are a few Chelsea stars to keep an eye on as 2024/25 progresses, even from an early stage. But there are three Blues in particular that Fantasy Premier League enthusiasts should sign, make a note of, or add to their wishlist right now. According to our experts, which trio of CFC players can you not ignore?
In the meantime, let's have a brief look at friendlies played by the west Londoners whilst in the United States. Not to mention a significant practice match coming against Premier League champions Manchester City on Saturday night. A similarly worrying prospect subsequently emerges as Enzo Maresca's team meet Champions League title-holders Real Madrid in another friendly.
Manchester City and Real Madrid await Chelsea prior to a tough preseason test versus Inter Milan at Stamford Bridge
During the current offseason, Chelsea have shown glimpses of class and given a bit of hope. But, as is usual these days, the evident promise under a new boss is coupled with some concerning elements and performances as well.
There is still no balance at the Bridge, if you ask me; I am aware that it is premature to say so. Yet, judging by uneven results so far, minimal impactful signings and overall squad structure, I'd say this CFC side is a definite work in progress.
Maresca can, of course, prove me wrong as the term unfolds. One super influential acquisition, such as someone like Victor Osimhen, currently of Napoli, might perhaps make all the difference top four-wise. However, Chels' are seemingly a slight way off from challenging for UCL places just yet.
So, how has the schedule gone so far for the Italian and his Blues roster? First of all Chelsea played Wrexham at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. That meeting ended in parity; the CFC players were typically inconsistent but do have something about them.
The Blues were subsequently hammered 4-1 by Scottish club Celtic. Next up was Club America; Chelsea steamrollered the Mexicans 3-0. The Man City game is in Ohio; Chels vs los Blancos is in North Carolina.
FPL picks
I won't bore you by explaining how amazing Blues star Cole Palmer is. He is also a dead cert for any FPL outfit. However, I'm starting with Christopher Nkunku but I'll sign Palmer when he's available due to an extended rest.
Nkunku is therefore my obvious second selection. We know his quality; fitness was the only concern. His preseason form is head-turning. Malo Gusto is a man I want to fit into my Fantasy team. He offers attacking threat, and has a great run of fixtures for potential clean sheets from Gameweek 2.
