Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has been quizzed on why he dropped Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho. The mercurial winger had made a great and unpredictable start at Stamford Bridge and beyond with the Blues. Although Sancho was criticised for an underwhelming performance when it really mattered for CFC against Liverpool. Irrespective of that match, a typically candid and open Maresca has now revealed why he seemingly went off the one-time England international. So, why is Maresca in two minds about the highly rated but inconsistent wideman?

In addition to examining and opining on that matter, we take a quick look at another CFC story. And this is a humorous one, if Man United supporters can look away for a few moments. They'll also have to excuse Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana as we explain the situation. But what did the former Leicester City man say exactly when asked if he'd ever consider signing for Man United? And why will the ever-suffering Red Devils support most likely take offence to what was said?

Why Jadon Sancho is now out of the Chelsea starting lineup after a very measured, impressive and promising offering overall

Sancho certainly impressed me as he began his Blues career. And I was one of the people dead against his arrival at the Bridge. My stance merely arose because of the problems seemingly attached to the 24-year-old. Not due to his playing capacity when on form and concentrated.

Sancho is clearly a massively talented player and one who can affect even the biggest games. However, his form and off-field issues at Man United were unpalatable at the time. He did fairly well on loan at Borussia Dortmund and was given his next chance, understandably.

At Chelsea Football Club, Sancho made his name ring bells again almost instantly with fine displays versus a few teams. But his star dropped a bit as the team and manager got it wrong in the vital Reds contest. Consequently the Camberwell, London-born professional was omitted from the side that started vs Newcastle United.

Exciting wingman Pedro Neto came into the XI as Sancho's replacement. Maresca has now explained the decision:

"Jadon is doing well since he arrived. For sure they [the players] cannot maintain the same level because the amount of games huge. The last two games he didn't play, not for any different reason. It was a technical decision, no more than that. For sure, because of amount of games, he's going to continue playing many games. He needs to continue working hard and for sure he will play."

Oh, Wesley Fofana brought jokes

Fofana is a funny man; sometimes the smirk he carries gives the air of a naughty schoolboy. To juxtapose, he is as committed in the challenge as any tough-tackling centre back. So why has he probably upset Red Devils lately?

"Driving back from the Newcastle clash, Fofana can be seen in his car speaking and taking photographs with complementary fans. However, when a fan of the Red Devils approaches and asks, 'are you coming to United', the 23-year-old can be heard laughing and simply replies: “Never.”

The fan further questions, 'why not?' It prompted Fofana to then waggle his finger in the air while continuing to sustain an amused grin at the thought of joining the in-peril United."
