Chelsea are preparing to host Pafos FC in their seventh league phase Champions League game on Wednesday night.
Looking to continue his solid record since taking over from Enzo Maresca at the start of the month, Liam Rosenior hopes to build on Chelsea's recent 2-0 Premier League win over Brentford last weekend.
The Blues come into Wednesday's game in 14th place, which would grant a place in the qualifying stage, but the hard work isn't over yet. Chelsea will be desperate to strengthen their position and won't accept anything less than all three points.
The calibre and status of this week's opposition also put added pressure on Rosenior. One of the lowest-ranked sides in Europe, Pafos FC are huge outsiders to progress beyond the Champions League current stage.
However, despite the Cypriot side sitting 29th with just six points, the former Strasbourg boss will be encouraging his creative attackers not to take their foot off the gas, and there is a clear reason why.
Chelsea's attackers will need to be at their best to beat Pafos FC
Throughout their first six European matches, Chelsea have averaged just over two goals per game. Those numbers aren't too bad but there is certainly room for improvement.
And unfortunately for the Blues, their latest mid-week clash will see them tasked with breaching one of the competition's tightest defences.
Juan Carlos Carcedo's Pafos FC has conceded 9 goals in the Champions League this season.
Such a solid defensive record is a clear indication that the Cypriots are hard to breach, so Chelsea's forward line will be expected to earn every chance they may create.
David Luiz back at the Bridge
Wednesday's matchup in London will see former defender and cult hero David Luiz return to the Bridge, nearly seven years after he bid farewell.
The now-38-year-old Brazilian is enjoying his first season in Cyprus and has not shied away from admitting he wants to beat his former club.
Speaking to The Times' Peter Rutzler about his desire to cause an upset, the flamboyant South American said:
"I always had to do my job, you know? My family has to eat, I have to pay my bills!"
During his time at Chelsea, Luiz, who experienced two spells spanning eight-and-a-half-years, directly contributed to 29 goals in 248 appearances in all competitions.
He won six major trophies with Chelsea, including 2012 Champions League and 2016-17 Premier League.
