Chelsea are gearing up to kick off the 2025/26 season against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. Enzo Maresca’s side are currently on top of their form and will look to continue the momentum into the next season and start with a victory. Of course, it won't be easy against the Eagles, who are fresh off winning the FA Cup over Manchester City and the Community Shield against Liverpool.
Meanwhile, in the background, Chelsea officials are busy finishing off the final bits of business this summer. The Blues have already spent a substantial amount on bringing in players like Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens and Jorrel Hato, and they are still pushing to sign Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho.
On the other hand, a number of players have departed in search of playing time and to help balance the books. Noni Madueke, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Djordje Petrovic, Armando Broja, Lesley Ugochukwu and more have left this summer. Additionally, the club are looking to find new homes for a few more individuals who are not in Enzo Maresca's plans for the future.
Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi falls under that category, as does David Datro Fofana. Now, a Premier League club have registered their interest in both.
Wolves interested in signing Chelsea duo and make formal approach
CaughtOffside report that Wolves are targeting a double swoop for Disasi and Fofana. They have formally approached Chelsea to gather information on the availability and terms for the duo.
Chelsea recently secured Hato to strengthen their defence. However, the injury to Levi Colwill will be a setback for the team. Despite that, the Blues will probably be more than comfortable to let Disasi leave.
The French defender spent last season on loan at Aston Villa. And it does not feel like he has much of a future at Stamford Bridge.
On the other hand, Fofana never managed to find his feet in Chelsea colours. He has spent a few spells out on loan and it might be time to find a more permanent solution, if possible.
