One of the most important areas for Chelsea to strengthen going into this transfer window was left-winger. The Blues were left without a dedicated player for their left flank as Mykhailo Mudryk was suspended in December last year with no known return date. Whereas Jadon Sancho returned to Manchester United after an underwhelming stint at Stamford Bridge on loan.

Chelsea have already brought in their prime target for the position, Jamie Gittens, to the club. That said, there is another winger’s name that has been heavily linked with the Blues. The player in question is Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United.

Following the arrival of Gittens to the club, those rumours had initially faded regarding the Argentine winger. However, Chelsea reportedly still want to sign Garnacho to further bolster the position. Now, a recent incident suggests that the Manchester United player might also be eager to join the Blues.

Garnacho has recently liked a post by Fabrizio Romano, which states that Chelsea are pursuing both him and Xavi Simons. This has certainly caught the eyes of fans, who now believe that the player might be moving to Stamford Bridge soon or, at the very least, wants to.

Garnacho has fallen out of first-team plans under new Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim and is looking for a new home. Despite a number of clubs showing interest, the Argentine has made his willingness to remain in the Premier League clear, which makes Chelsea a potential destination.

Meanwhile, the Blues could do with another left-winger after Noni Madueke, who played a major role last season, often covering that position, departed for Arsenal recently.

That said, Garnacho has been in bad form in recent times, and his lack of regular game time under Amorim hasn’t helped either. There are some murmurings about his attitude as well. So Chelsea will need to be cautious with this deal. As for whether or when it will materialise, that remains to be seen.
