Chelsea finished in fourth place in the Premier League and have successfully secured a spot in the Champions League as a result. So, with multiple trophies up for grabs in the next campaign, the club are pulling out all the stops to strengthen the squad in the ongoing transfer window. One of the areas that needed addressing was upfront. Nicolas Jackson continues to underwhelm and has scored just 13 goals. Christopher Nkunku has also failed to break into the strongest starting XI.
As a result, the club successfully brought in Liam Delap as the new number nine before the Club World Cup. They have also signed versatile Brighton & Hove Albion striker, Joao Pedro.
With these additions, Chelsea’s forward line will have a brand new look next season. However, it seems like the Blues are still not done in their bid to strengthen.
Fabrizio Romano (via Chelsea News) recently spoke on his YouTube channel and suggested that Chelsea might make further additions to their forward line. He said:
"Chelsea are building something special for their attacking package.
“I think Chelsea will do more. I will not be surprised if Chelsea add one more offensive player and I still expect Chelsea to add a centre back in the summer transfer window."

Apart from a striker, Chelsea were also lacking a left winger. That has now been addressed with a deal for Jamie Gittens already agreed upon. The announcement is believed to be only a matter of time.
Meanwhile, the Blues will have to let go of some players to make space for all the incoming signings and to comply with the Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR). Jackson, Noni Madueke, and Nkunku are among those facing an uncertain future at the club.
It’s always exciting to see new players joining Chelsea. Having said that, the club will need to think their transfers through before making any further additions to their forward line, as the Blues also need a new reliable centre-back and should be looking to bring in a world-class goalkeeper as well. Keeping the Financial Fair Play regulations in mind, it’s crucial that they spend wisely and prioritise all the areas instead of focusing on just one while neglecting others.
